City Homicide - Tasma Walton

Post by adivie »

I do not know where you guys (or gals) get your ideas for customs or requests for themes. I, usually, get my ideas from movies, TV, news stories, and other enthusiasts. Going with the TV or mainstream approach, an episode from "City Homicide" really caught my attention. "City Homcide" is an Australian police procedural series based in Melbourne, Australia. It follows the Homicide Division in their many cases solving, of course, homicides.

The episode, in question, is called "Flight Risk". A wealthy, top-member executive is accused of rape and murder. The psychologist, played by Tasma Walton, profiles the killer to be a man with a narcissistic & male-chauvinistic disorder. He feels he is king of the world, especially with woman. Also, women have no right to challenge is position as the dominant man. Any woman who has "challenged' this position of his has ended up raped at home by an unknown assailant. The latest victim died from her injuries, hence, the Murder Squad was assigned this case.

Walton feels that the executive is the best suspect they have but he is due to leave for Dubai, UAE, in a few days and will be ineligible for extradition once he arrives at his destination. To get him to crack, Walton interviews the suspect and "sets" him in his place by controlling the interview and shutting down his conversation plus that of his lawyer. However, the suspect does not crack and the squad has to let him go. Unknown to the squad, Walton has made progress and he cannot let her very serious slight go unpunished before he leaves the country.

Tasma is rendered unconscious when she is about to enter her house. The suspect had acquired her address and had been lying in wait to ambush her. Tasma regains consciousness and realizes she is in her bedroom, lying on her bed, with her hand tied to the head-frame posts above her head. The executive starts taunting her about not knowing her place as a woman. He has a pair of scissors in his hands and begins cutting her dress off her as he continues to taunt her. Once he has her dress removed and Tasma is stripped to her bra & panties, he goes to her bathroom to clean up before "finishing" his work. Meanwhile, a colleague on the squad arrives at Tasma's house with new evidence against their suspect. When she sees the evidence of the struggle outside the door of the house, she enters with her weapon drawn. Unfortunately, she is jumped by their suspect and tossed onto the floor, However, she had left her pistol on the bed, after untying one of Tasma's hands. Tasma takes the pistol and shoots the assailant multiple times, killing him.
