Spam

Post by davidnorth »

Well, the mindless dicks have found us. I thought I'd added the Google reCaptcha to the registration, but it seems it was set to the board's own lame spam test. That was defeated years ago. As far as I know, without registering myself as someone else, the reCaptcha should now be present. For today though, I have disabled the registration function. It's by far the best way to kill spam.

If anyone wants to register, let me know at north@bound2burst.net and I'll include you.

The only times I enjoyed Spam was after an all-day patrol that involved skipping breakfast and lunch. For Spam to work, one must be ravenously hungry and, almost, willing to eat anything! Now, Spam also come in a variety of flavors, such as, Hickory Smoke, Portuguese Sausage, Jalapeño, Bacon, Black Pepper, and Bacon.

As one who registered yesterday, the captcha did require a little thought.

Managed to acquire 3 free tins of the stuff during lockdown.
But since I haven’t tried it in decades, feel free to pick them up any time you’re passing.

It should now be just the "I am not a robot" thingy.

Actually went through two of those yesterday, and yours definitely was.

It is now possible to register but the account will require admin approval. If the reCaptcha was there all the time, then it clearly won't keep out the spammers. And, no, adivie, no.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner so here are a few more mouth-watering ideas from the creators of that wonder mystery meat that helped feed me for so many years in the military.
