Jade is a burglar who has information that a safe in a particular house it contains valuables. She enters the property, locates the safe and enters the combination her anonymous informant gave her. When she opens the door she discovers a note containing a single word: "Surprise!" Before she can react, a voice behind her tells her to freeze. She raises her hands and turns to face the man who has caught her in the act. She expects him to turn her over to the police, but instead he orders her to sit on a chair. He proceeds to tie her up, explaining that he has a client whom Jade ripped off in the past, and that client wants revenge. It transpires that this man has set her up, and that she has walked into a trap. He tells Jade that once she is secure, he will contact the client who will come to deal with her personally. Jade tries to reason with the man, saying she will offer him more than whatever the client is paying him, but he says he values his reputation more than money. He ties Jade tightly and very thoroughly so that she cannot escape, then gags her before he leaves. Alone now, Jade struggles to free herself but without making any progress. Later, a door opens and closes and footsteps approach - the client has arrived. Jade struggles desperately but she is helpless and at the client's mercy, always assuming he has any.
