Carissa is personal secretary to the head of North Enterprises, and in the course of her work, she uncovers a financial discrepancy. She informs the chief financial officer and tries to call her boss at his home, but she gets no answer. Believing the matter is important and that he should be notified at once, Car issa goes to his house, tries the front door, and eventually circles around the back to the basement door. She finds him seemingly packing up his bags, and immediately starts explaining about the financial irregularities. She is a little confused by her boss's reaction, until she realizes that he is responsible for the missing money, and that he was about to skip the country. To make sure she cannot interfere with his plans any further, he handcuffs her and ties her to a chair. He makes her speak to the CFO and explain that she made a terrible mistake with the accounts, then he gags her and departs for foreign climes, leaving Carissa bound and gagged until someone thinks to come looking for her. By then, he will be long gone.
